Camino Food Review

Flight over

On the left – Refreshments at Gatwick – a lager and a lager-top (with blackcurrant cordial)

On the right – EasyJet salad?  Hardly, but Pret will do.

Pinxos in Pamplona

On the left – Our first Pinxos in Pamplona.  Crab ceviche with guacamole and fried rice noodles, and a toasted pulpo with hot bubbly creamy concoction.  Terry’s go-to drink, a coke, Jo’s is a clara (beer and lemon)

On the right – Second Pinxos stop in Pamplona at Hemingways favourite hangout, El Cafe Iruna.  We have salmon gravadlax with pickle and aioli.  And a toasted goat cheese on Iberian ham topped with walnut and balsamic jus

Picnics

On the left – A selection of picnics.  Clean, easy to digest, easy to carry, and no refrigeration required

On the right – And sardines!

Fuente Vino Tinto

On the left – Well not food, but wine.  The pilgrim’s fuente vino tinto, same as the water fountain but sadly only the one near Estelle… much better quality than expected

On the right – Not yet 9am and near beginning on a 25km day – you keep the portion modest. And you’re not going to bottle it.  You’re already packing 20lbs on your back!
